PIECE 011 - COLLECTION: BETWEEN TWO WORLDS

3 Breaths

3 BREATHS

Artist's reflection Listen

I am with her. By her side. It is night and winter.

For a few moments now, the quality of her presence has changed.

Her body has grown still, her face has relaxed, and in it I perceive acceptance and surrender.

I am processing what these last hours have been.

Suddenly, I feel I am witnessing a birth, not a death.

I see it could not be any other way — the moment to say goodbye has come.

Now I can only be present. There is no time for tears or attachments.

Just as a mother cannot stop the birth of a child,

she could not stop or delay her own death.

And suddenly, she can see her own "labour."

THREE. I heard in my mind.

And then, like a midwife who knows when the final pushes are coming, I accompanied her through her last breaths.

A golden light, full of life, entered with her breath all the way to her feet. The first.

Then she exhaled, and it entered again, full of life, this time reaching her pelvis. The second.

And she exhaled once more, returning this time only to her chest, where it expanded, filling the room with light. She exhaled. That was the third.

It happened on the 4th of December at 23:27.
